The Rape of Europa was nominated for both Outstanding Historical Programming - Long Form and in Research under the category of Outstanding Individual Achievement in a Craft.

Academy Award

Smile Pinki, on which Jon Shenk was a cinematographer, won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short.

Emmy Winner

AIR: Blame Somebody Else won a 2007 Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Feature Story.

 

Lost Boys of Sudan has been nominated for a 2005 Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Coverage of a News Story-Long Form. Jon Shenk has also received an Emmy nomination for Cinematography: Outstanding Achievements in a Craft.

Best Broadcast Documentary Award

Hell of a Nation was awarded Best Broadcast Documentary of 2005 by the South Asian Journalists Association.

CINE Golden Eagle Award

The New Heroes: Dreams of Sanctuary has been honored with a Fall 2005 Golden Eagle Award in the category of Professional Non-Fiction.

Japan Prize, International Educational Program Contest

The New Heroes: Dreams of Sanctuary was also awarded the 2005 Japan Prize in the International Educational Program Contest sponsored by the Japan Broadcasting Corporation.
